US Route 6 in Pennsylvania, which passes through the 11 counties of Crawford, Erie, Warren, McKean, Potter, Tioga, Bradford, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike, is the focus of an effort to preserve, enhance, and promote the transportation heritage of one of the nation’s first transcontinental highways, the rural communities linked by the highway, and the natural scenic beauty of one of America’s favorite road trips.

The Pennsylvania Route 6 Heritage Corridor offers a broad range of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities and exceptional experiences. Public and private infrastructure make the corridor accessible and provide economic opportunities for strengthening communities while enhancing natural, cultural, scenic, recreational, and historical resources. A strategic, unified partnership guides the management of these resources, preserving and enhancing the PA Route 6 heritage and quality of life throughout the corridor.

The PA Route 6 Artisan Trail Coordinator is a part-time role responsible for developing, facilitating, and coordinating the Artisan Trail’s activities across the 11-county PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor. This position supports and promotes a network of over 500 artisans by managing communications, organizing events like Artisan Month, developing promotional materials and products, maintaining the Artisan Trail website, and collaborating with local partners to enhance visibility and economic opportunities for local artisans. The Coordinator reports to the Executive Director, facilitates meetings, pursues funding opportunities, and travels throughout the corridor to engage stakeholders and artisans.
