About

Black Forest Trading Post & The Deer Park, a Potter County classic long loved for its gifts, kitschy souvenirs, gem-mining, ice cream, and deer feeding park, now features ax and spear throwing plus a bicycle, archery, and kayak pro shop, too.

The CRANK, which has now merged with Black Forest Trading Post & The Deer Park is a lot more than a Pro bike & paddle-sports shop. Owner Sean Christian is extremely proud of The CRANK’s reputation for having the best-informed customers, the highest-quality equipment and instruction in Southeastern PA. His enthusiasm for outdoor adventure is contagious, and you’ll know the minute you step into Black Forest Trading Post & The Deer Park that you’ve found your place for cycling, archery, paddling and outdoor adventure gear/needs!

“While other shops are primarily interested in making a quick sale, Sean at Black Forest Trading Post & The Deer Park focuses on building a relationship with the customers we serve. We know that the best way to keep you coming back is to take the time to get to know you and your needs so that you can enjoy the outdoors as much as we do!

“That’s why being a bicycle, archery, and kayak Pro Shop is not enough, to just carry the equipment. Black Forest Trading Post & The Deer Park has the expertise to get you and your equipment set up properly and working right the first time!

“The CRANK was established in 1989 with both the recreational and competitive cycling enthusiast in mind.  Since then, we have expanded to include archery, paddling and outdoor adventure gear.

“In 2019 Sean merged The CRANK with the newly acquired Black Forest Trading Post & The Deer Park in Ulysses, PA. Which now includes ax/knife/spear throwing into their ever-expanding repertoire; while also keeping with what has kept customers and friends, from near and far coming back for generations. We look forward to seeing all of you again soon.” Source: BFTradingPost.com
