Join Our Team to help us further our mission. US Route 6 in Pennsylvania, which passes through the 11 counties of Crawford, Erie, Warren, McKean, Potter, Tioga, Bradford, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike, is the focus of an effort to preserve, enhance, and promote the transportation heritage of one of the nation’s first transcontinental highways, the rural communities linked by the highway, and the natural scenic beauty of one of America’s favorite road trips.
The Pennsylvania Route 6 Heritage Corridor offers a broad range of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities and exceptional experiences. Public and private infrastructure make the corridor accessible and provide economic opportunities for strengthening communities while enhancing natural, cultural, scenic, recreational, and historical resources. A strategic, unified partnership guides the management of these resources, preserving and enhancing the PA Route 6 heritage and quality of life throughout the corridor.
About PA Route 6 Alliance
The PA Route 6 Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2003 to promote, preserve, and enhance the economic development and heritage resources of communities along the Pennsylvania Route 6 corridor.
The Alliance manages the 11-county PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor through strategic planning, tourism promotion, community development programs, marketing, and partnerships with local businesses, municipalities, organizations, and regional partners.
Spanning 427 miles across Pennsylvania, the corridor connects communities and showcases the region’s rich history, cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, recreational opportunities, and small-town character.
The Alliance works collaboratively with community leaders, businesses, tourism organizations, and residents to strengthen local economies, preserve regional heritage, support community revitalization, and improve quality of life throughout the corridor.
