The Wilder Museum of Warren County History invites you to celebrate the 1900’s chic and cheesy styles at the “Twentieth Century Fashion: Fabulous or Faux Pas?” Fashion Flaunt fundraiser on Wednesday, June 11 from 6:00-8:30 PM at 51 Erie Ave., Irvine, PA. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and fancy beverages while local models parade the runway, showcasing a collection of vintage clothing that will make you sigh with envy or shudder with embarrassment.
The event will include a decade-by-decade display of vintage styles from the Warren County Historical Society’s textiles collection. Do you remember housedresses? Leisure suits? Or perhaps you prefer the elegance of the Edwardian era or the fun of flapper fashion. These fabulous exhibits will span the century and the seasons.
The highlight of the evening is the annual purse auction conducted by professional auctioneer Scott Amundson. High bidders win purses—and the super-secret prizes hidden inside them, such as gift cards to area stores and restaurants.
Please call (814) 723-1795 or email warrencountyhistory@aol.com to RSVP. The cost is a donation, and all proceeds from the event will go to maintaining the Wilder Museum. The Fashion Flaunt is the first event of the Wilder Museum’s season. With over 4,000 local artifacts, this treasure trove of Warren County history is the largest such museum in the area.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the museum will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 1-5 PM. Fall hours from September 6 through October 12 are Friday and Saturday, 1-5 PM.
